GHX's Karen Conway Tapped to Lead AHRMM Board

Tuesday, January 17, 2017

A new year brings new beginnings. And for the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) that means welcoming GHX’s Karen Conway as national chair of the supply chain-focused organization, which is part of the American Hospital Association.

For those of you who follow the healthcare industry – and GHX – you know that AHRMM is one of the premier industry associations for healthcare professionals. Its mission dovetails with GHX’s own: driving major improvements in healthcare through supply chain excellence. Its members come from every corner of the industry, and provide the expertise and insight required to drive true transformation in the industry.

Election to AHRMM’s board is a great honor and being elected by her peers to serve as Chair, even more so. As anyone who has worked with Karen knows, she has unrelenting passion for solving the industry’s most critical issues which has made her so valuable to GHX and the industry. She is a sought-after industry conference speaker, author, and collaborator on many fronts. Among her many healthcare industry accomplishments, Karen led the healthcare supply chain discussion at the inaugural “Internet of Things Global Forum,” chaired the first European Unique Device Identifier (UDI) conference, and facilitated discussions on the role of the supply chain and healthcare reform with former U.S. Senate Presidents Bill Frist and Tom Daschle and National Coordinator for Health IT, David Blumenthal, M.D.

GHX is a strong proponent of the AHRMM Cost-Quality-Outcomes (CQO) Movement, which illustrates the expanding role of supply chain in improving the total cost and quality of care and value-based reimbursements.  Karen has been instrumental in the CQO Movement since its inception in 2013.

On behalf of the entire GHX team, I’d like to congratulate Karen on this prestigious appointment.
