GHX Promotes Chris Batson to Chief Financial Officer

Batson to Lend Deep Experience in CFO and Senior Business Leadership Roles to Help GHX Continue to Reduce Costs in Healthcare
Louisville, CO — Tuesday, December 8, 2020

Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) today announced the promotion of Chris Batson to Chief Financial Officer, effective January 1, 2021. Batson, who has served since 2019 as GHX’s vice president, Finance and Accounting, will succeed Rob Gillespie in the role of CFO. Gillespie will continue with the company until the summer of 2021 to ensure a seamless transition. Batson will report directly to CEO Bruce Johnson.

“Rob’s impact at GHX the past thirteen years cannot be overstated,” said Johnson. “I’m grateful for the care he’s put into developing a solid transition plan and his ongoing partnership. Rob has helped our company evolve alongside the industry and create considerable value for our customers and equity holders. On behalf of our Board and everyone at GHX, I’d like to thank Rob and wish him continued success.”

Batson brings extensive experience in general management, business strategy, mergers and acquisitions, capital structure management and private and public company management. In his earlier role at GHX, Batson was responsible for the company’s Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, Tax, Audit, Financial Reporting and Controllership functions.

“Since Chris joined GHX more than a year ago, I’ve been impressed by his curiosity, work ethic, passion for our customers and colleagues and skill in solving complex challenges,” added Johnson. “Having previously served in senior business and CFO roles, Chris brings a well-rounded perspective of GHX’s financial needs as well as P&L leadership. I’m confident Chris will help us continue to navigate the ripple effects of COVID-19 and deliver on our mission to enable better patient care and help the healthcare community save more than a billion dollars each year.”

“As value-based care becomes the norm and we move toward the creation of more resilient, clinically integrated supply chains, GHX is perfectly poised to support the industry’s transformation,” said Batson. “I’m excited to solidify our long-term vision during an important industry evolution.”

Prior to joining GHX, Batson served as president for ACS Group, a privately held $600 million information technology consulting and staffing company. He also served as senior vice president and general manager, and earlier as CFO, at Ciber Inc., a global information technology consulting, services and outsourcing company. Batson has also served in senior business and finance roles at organizations including TeleTech Holdings and NCR Corporation. Batson has a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee and an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
