Transformational Healthcare Supply Chain Takes Center Stage at 16th Annual GHX Summit

GHX Healthcare Supply Chain Summit is the Largest Event of its Kind Dedicated to the Modern Supply Chain’s Role in Evolving the Healthcare Landscape
Louisville, CO - Thursday, April 28, 2016 -

Next month’s GHX Healthcare Supply Chain Summit will bring together hundreds of professionals from across the continuum of care – providers, manufacturers, distributors and group purchasing organizations (GPOs) – to discuss supply chain’s increasingly critical role in reducing costs and improving patient care. The 16th annual Summit, taking place May 23-25 in Austin, Texas, is widely regarded as the event where leaders set the stage for healthcare supply chain innovation in the year to come.

This year’s Summit offers more than 75 sessions on both strategic and tactical topics that pertain to leveraging supply chain data, automation and standardization to increase value in healthcare. New to the event this year are the “Summit20 Talks,” a 22-session series of fast-paced, interactive discussions on how supply chain innovation is within reach for healthcare organizations of every shape and size. A lineup of significant keynote talks is also scheduled throughout the three-day event, including:

  • James Carville and Mary Matalin, All’s Fair: Love War and Politics: One of the country’s most recognizable political couples will provide a candid look at the 2016 presidential race and offer a behind-the-scene look at the business of healthcare in Washington.
  • U.S. Army, Major Gen. Vinny Boles (Ret.), Leveraging the Links in Your Supply Chain: As a career Army officer with 33 years of experience, Major Gen. Boles provided for the needs of our nation’s troops all over the world. He pulls from his own supply chain experience to offer advice on how to run the healthcare supply chain like a well-oiled machine.
  • Chris Tarbell, Cybersecurity in Healthcare: This former FBI Cybersecurity special agent will share how he took down members of Anonymous and Silk Road, and outline the growing cyber threats facing healthcare organizations.
  • Laurel Junk, The Changing Patient Population: Junk, the chief supply chain and procurement officer at Kaiser Permanente, will join Barry Blake, vice president of research at SCM World, to discuss the rise of chronic care and its impact on the healthcare landscape. They will share strategies for providers and suppliers to help navigate the complexity of a changing healthcare population.
  • Mary Beth Briscoe and Dr. Robert Cerfolio, Supply Chain Management and Physician Engagement: The University of Alabama Medical Center will provide clinical and executive perspectives on the supply chain’s integral role in value-based healthcare. Attendees will learn how engaged physicians can help transform a supply chain.

The GHX Healthcare Supply Chain Summit is the place to be for healthcare professionals looking critically at ways to create and continuously strengthen strategic, data-driven supply chains – the backbone of next-generation healthcare.
