India COVID-19 Update and G-Fax Service Continuitydate: Wednesday, May 12, 2021
This week, the World Health Organization reclassified the COVID-19 strain that has been ravaging India as a “variant of concern.” India is one of the world’s most affected countries, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
As India continues to fight to stem the tide of coronavirus cases and deaths, they are also battling a deadly fungal infection which is increasingly affecting people with weakened immune systems from the virus. However, there is a glimmer of good news: India has recorded more recoveries than new cases in a single day for the first time in 61 days.
Since the April 27, 2021 business continuity update, we would like to confirm there have been no new cases of COVID-19 reported by members of our partner’s local workforce in India and are thankful for their continued health. Although there has been a sharp increase in reported cases across the country, there has been no impact to the productivity or operations of the local workforce supporting GHX, and we continue to maintain standard service levels.
GHX and its partners are prepared in the event the Indian Prime Minister mandates another nationwide lockdown as we and our partners have been successfully working remotely for more than a year. We will continue to assess business continuity efforts on a regular basis and provide updates.
For those who are doing their best to keep themselves and their loved ones healthy, who are in recovery or are ailing from this disease – and the brave individuals who are on the front lines of so much tragedy – our hearts and minds are with you. Keep your spirits alive.
