Progress in Vetting Non-Traditional Suppliers Offering PPE
created: Thursday, April 23, 2020 updated: Saturday, February 06, 2021
Supply shortages due to the COVID-19 pandemic are continuously evolving. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and other critical supplies continue to be difficult to source.
To help hospitals and health care systems find reputable alternative sources, the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the Association for Health Care Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) are collaborating with GHX to do an initial vetting of suppliers using the same tools, expertise and processes leveraged by its Vendormate solutions. The Vendormate process has been in place for more than 15 years and is a trusted source of information to credential new vendors. The process includes information such as sanction searches, validating tax IDs, reviewing financial snapshots and business licenses/certifications.
To date we have vetted 1027 vendors and AHRMM has added 435 to their COVID-19 Resource Center.
