2019 Winner: AdventHealth

2019 - AdventHealth
  • Over the past five years, AdventHealth has been transforming its supply chain operations, having standardized on a single enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform and item master across 45 acute care facilities, and a shared services model with centralized master data management.

  • This standardization of technology and processes extends through to AdventHealth’s product data, with the organization using GS1 Global Trade Item Numbers (GTIN) in EDI transactions with its primary distributor (Medline) and major suppliers. Among the 152,000 items within AdventHealth’s item master, 53 percent of Medline items, 41 percent of inventory items and 37 percent of active items have at least one GTIN.

  • AdventHealth is currently working to improve GTIN capture at the point of use (POU) systems through the use of barcode scanning and a virtual item master linked to a GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) certified data pool.
