The Québec EDI Mandate requires use of core EDI transactions NOW with more to come.
Are you EDI compliant? Effective January 1, 2020, the province of Québec’s Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) mandate came into effect, requiring that healthcare suppliers or distributors utilize specific automated transactions when selling to the province healthcare organizations.*
*Exclusions for purchases relating to capital, consignment, services and leases at this time.
Currently, the following EDI documents are mandatory when selling into the Province of Québec:
- Purchase Orders (EDI 850)
- PO Acknowledgement (EDI 855)
- Advance Ship Notice (EDI 856)
- Invoice (EDI 810)
Any new supplier contracts will have 6 months to apply the EDI obligations set forth by the ministry, or the institution will issue a report of unsatisfactory performance. This report could be used to terminate a current contract or used in future calls of tender to eliminate the supplier from the awarding of new group contracts.
GHX offers complete EDI solutions to help position you as a preferred business partner. In addition to the required core transactions, we’re capable of preparing your organization for any future requirements including the Price/Sales Catalogue (EDI 832) and the Resale Report (EDI 867).
