Hologic (NASDAQ: HOLX), a Bedford, Mass.-based developer of diagnostic products, medical imaging systems and surgical products, has successfully connected with GHX, providing its customers in the UK with the opportunity to trade with Hologic electronically and help ensure it is compliant with the recent eProcurement mandate from the UK’s Department of Health. With this implementation, Hologic joins the GHX trading community – the largest global trading community in healthcare – and harnesses the benefits of ecommerce and electronic data interchange (EDI).
The GHX solution will provide a platform for the transaction of electronic business documents including Purchase Orders (POs), Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) and Invoices. Document types 850, 855, 856 and 810 are supported by the GHX Exchange. Connection to the GHX Exchange enables medical manufacturers to benefit from a single point of connection with the entire GHX Community. Adoption of the Exchange brings multiple benefits, including increased operational efficiency for both suppliers and their customers, visibility across the supply chain, and fewer costly, discrepant order lines.
