GHX Renews Exclusive Agreement with Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA)
|
WESTMINSTER, Colo. — October 30, 2006 — GHX has renewed its exclusive and long-standing agreement with the Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA). Under the agreement, HIDA will continue to provide distributed healthcare products sales data for use in generating GHX Market Intelligence (formerly HPIS) reports. GHX Market Intelligence reports provide an in-depth analysis of the data, which encompasses approximately 95 percent of total U.S. sales of healthcare products sold through distribution.
“By extending this relationship, GHX can enable manufacturers to make more informed business decisions based on the industry’s most comprehensive and up-to-date view into distributed healthcare products sales,” says Patrick McCarthy, Executive Vice President, GHX Business Intelligence Solutions.
"HIDA and GHX are building upon a long-term partnership to give distributors and manufacturers deeper insight into sales volume, market share, and other key sales operations metrics," notes HIDA's President and Chief Executive Officer Matt Rowan.
With source data provided by HIDA and more than 20 large healthcare distributors, GHX Market Intelligence reports summarize product-level sales by market segment with geographic specificity down to a three-digit zip code. With access to such a large percentage of the industry’s most reliable, timely, and complete data, the reports extrapolate the data to project 100 percent of sales through the domestic medical-surgical and clinical-lab distribution supply chain. This market visibility allows GHX Market Intelligence customers to target areas of growth and more effectively focus marketing, sales and product development resources.
As part of the exclusive agreement, HIDA will promote GHX Business Intelligence products and services to its membership. McCarthy adds, “GHX’s close relationship with HIDA as a Business Intelligence Partner will allow our two organizations to collaborate on future offerings to better serve the healthcare supplier community.”
