Provider Requirements and Cost

Providers do not have to be integrated with GHX to place orders using WebConnect, but they do need to have a computer and Internet access to be able to launch WebConnect. There is no cost to providers to use WebConnect.

WebConnect Promotion Kit

Promoting WebConnect to your customers will increase the number of electronic orders you receive and make processing orders more efficient. Use the following tools:

  1. e-Commerce Invitation from Vendor - An introduction letter that you can send to your customer that briefly explains WebConnect benefits.
  2. Road to eCommerce - which explains how to enroll in WebConnect, what to expect during the process, how to find the online tutorial and who to contact for support.
  3. WebConnect Brochure - A high-level look at WebConnect features and benefits.
Best Practices

To make the most of your promotion efforts:

  1. Familiarize yourself with WebConnect by reviewing the product's self-paced training. To view this training, click here, and then select the Tutorials book on the left side of the screen.
  2. Select customers who currently order via phone or fax and who do not have an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  3. Send the e-Commerce Invitation from Vendor to your customers.
  4. Follow up on the letters within a couple of weeks. Some customers may have questions or may be reluctant to change their processes. Encourage them to try WebConnect for a month. They'll see the value!
  5. Enjoy the efficiencies that electronic orders bring!
When You Can Expect the First Order

Although GHX may require up to 7 days for setup, timing of the first order also depends upon supplier and customer response time during setup. Here's how the process works:

  1. GHX receives the online registration form from your customer, verifies the information and sends a Welcome e-mail (within 24 hours)
  2. GHX completes internal registration process and sends you a boarding document for that customer (within 3 days)
  3. You complete the boarding document, confirm the go-live and send the document back to GHX.
  4. GHX completes testing and sends logins to your customer via e-mail (within 3 days)
  5. Your customer completes the online training and places their first electronic order.
